Kybella® uses a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps break down and absorb dietary fat. When Kybella® is injected into the targeted area, it destroys fat cells permanently. Once these cells are eliminated, they can no longer store or accumulate fat, providing long-lasting results.

The number of Kybella® sessions varies depending on the area being treated and the amount of fat present. Most patients require 2-4 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart to achieve their desired results. Once the targeted fat cells are destroyed, no further treatments are needed.

Kybella® is a non-surgical treatment with minimal downtime. Common side effects include swelling, redness, or tenderness in the treated area, which typically resolve within a few days to a week. Swelling can be more noticeable after the first treatment, so we recommend scheduling your session at least two weeks before any important events.
